The Courthouse sits in the middle of the square and is easily the most famous part of Maycomb. The original cloumns of the courthouse still stand through the fire that engulfed it in 1866. Local Man Atticus Finch works there.

The Maycomb Jail is a smalll yet well built jail that no one has ever escaped from. It has also housed some of the most mysterious people in Maycomb including, Boo Radely.

Maycomb's town centre is at the northernmost end of the main street. In this part of town ther is a heavy concentration of governmnet and commerical buildings to know of.
